Webmention Receipt Fixed?
Somewhere in the past month the site’s ability to receive webmentions became a little faulty. I think this may have been resolved. A little more than 10 years ago I started setting up the ability to receive a Webmention - IndieWeb, but it wasn’t completed properly. In the last year I set up Webmention.io and it has been working until about a month ago. Part of the old attempt with the Heroku app approach (which occasionally worked) was still in place. I pulled that out today. I tested with my Micro.blog site and it finally went through, which was a good sign. I had been able to get a webmention through Webmention Rocks!, but that seemed to be the only source able to generate it properly (this site also has a great lest of tests it runs with great output for understanding various).
Over the weekend I also took the step to authenticate things through IndieKey to authenticate many IndieWeb related services. Your site is your identity, through a set of validations.
While my site can receive a webmention (think of them as comments or end points to send a like) they are not displayed on the site. The webmention gets received through RSS that I pull. At some point I may setup the ability to post webmentions on my side, so I’m not using my micro.blog to handle those. But, that day is not today.
