September 2026 Off the Top Blogging Charts Posted
The initial vanderwal.net blog analysis to look at August 2026, the I Wrote What? related charts were intended to be just a look at August blogging patterns. But then I added a look at how that A Wrap to Blaugust / Blaugust posting compared historically. I didn’t know what was going to happen in September with the nudge from Blaugust out of the way. It turned out I mostly kept posting. But, what did September 2026 posting patterns look like?
September 2026 Off the Top Blogging Analysis Charts
Well, I just took what I had built for August (when building it I prepared for the potential continued monthly use) and grabbed my database and pulled a local copy and ran it through the initial run book to convert the site’s database to a local SQLite version and run through the scripts to parse the data and create the chart pages from templates. I hit a couple bumps, but the Off the Top Analytics :: Lab :: vanderwal.net now has September 2026 interactive charts and the “Cumulative blog word count” has been updated as well.
I did a slight restructuring of the page to make the different months easier to find. Each of the pages are outputs from a series of python scripts that I run on my laptop and they build standalone web pages from templates and using D3 by Observable for the charts. Since I may create these monthly, the operative word is “may”,I’ll look at other options for processing the data and building the data structure for the charts, and have an improved more forward looking structure of the page for the links to the charts. Any changes would likely come after a couple more months and see how the trends progress. But the September 2026 charts are in the Lab to look at.
